Notice of Monthly Meeting - Saturday, 4th February 2012

The Central Coast Family History Society will hold its next monthly meeting on Saturday 4th February at 1pm. The Guest Speaker, Ibtihal Samarayi, will speak on the use of art as a medium of therapy for children in Australian detention centres.

Recently, Ibtihal has written her autobiography From Refugee to Resident, giving an account of her escape from Iraq during the Saddam persecutions and subsequent years as a refugee in Iran and Turkey. She continues her research and lectures at the Faculty of Education and Arts at the Ourimbah campus of the University of Newcastle.

The meeting venue is the Lions Community Hall, situated behind the Society’s Research Centre at 8 Russell Drysdale Street, East Gosford. Visitors are most welcome at our meetings. Inquiries to 4324 5164 or see our website at www.centralcoastfhs.org.au.
