The East Coast Taekwondo Academy (ECTA) was established in 1988 on the Central Coast of New South Wales and now boasts a membership base of over 5000 students with over 45 classes held weekly in 25 locations throughout New South Wales. The ECTA is a registerd branch of Taekwondo Jidokwan International and Hapkido Moohakkwan (Australian Hapkido Federation), a registered member of Taekwondo Australia Inc (World Taekwondo Federation). Since the formation of the ECTA, the Academy and its members have developed and excelled in many aspects of the art including Olympic style of Taekwondo competition. Many members participate in State, National and International competition including official selection into the Australian National Team for representation at International competition such as Junior World Championships.
The East Coast Taekwondo Academy is a family oriented club, students are taught by highly motivated and qualified instructors in a safe controlled educational environment where members benefit physically from a dynamic sport and mentally and spiritually from the philosophical and traditional aspects of the martial arts.
We have separate classes and programs specifically designed for all ages and stages of martial arts training including Junoir, Senior, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Women's Self Defence.

TMS are holding self defense classes on Thursday nights at Kanwal Scout Hall.Corner pearce and Hopetown RD Kanwal TMS is based on the Filipino Martial Arts of Modern Arnis. Modern Arnis comprises elements of stick, knife and empty hand self defense.TMS is perfect for any person male or female who wishes to learn reality based self defense regardless of your fitness level, age or previous self defense experience. As TMS is not fitness orientated it is specifically designed to give the ‘every day’ person the skills and knowledge to defend ones self. In today’s society one cannot be too prepared for the consequences of a street confrontation with the ever increasing use of knives/sticks and other such weapons.TMS not only teaches you how to defend yourself against such attacks, but also teaches you how to defend yourself with the blunt and edged tools. (As knife skills are taught in these classes all participants must be over the age of 18).
Classes are held on Thursday nights from 7pm until 8:30 p.m.We also have a Saturday morning class which starts at 9:00 am until 10:30 am.Your first lesson is FREE. If you would like to continue, the price is $10 per class. No uniforms are required as we train in street clothes. All training equipment is provided.
