The Entrance, arguably one of the most famous holiday destinations on the Central Coast for many years, continues to be with attractions and events on offer all year round. The Entrance has two main beaches to relax on and unwind - The Entrance and North Entrance Beach both of which are patrolled throughout the summer months. Anglers can select from the very best of rock, estuary or beach fishing. A favourite fishing spot for families can be found over on the northern side of the Entrance Bridge. A dedicated fishing platform to cast a line from, right next to a playground for kids to play with plenty of room for a picnic. When in season, prawning in the Entrance Channel is very popular.
Discover the free attractions located at the Memorial Park, they include Daily Pelican Feeding at 3.30pm, the fun-filled children's water playground - Vera's Water Garden and the giant chess board game. Every Saturday, the Waterfront Arts and Crafts Markets operate. The Sails Stages plays host to live concerts. Other local activites include aqua bikes, hire boats and Lake Cruises departing from the public wharf. Take a ride on the historic Carousel, that has entertained young and the young at heart since 1930. On Sundays, make sure you head up the main road to behind the Entrance Cinema where you will find the Lions Club Charity Markets operating in the carpark from 8.30am - 12.30pm. Annual events include the Tuggerah Lakes Mardi Gras Festival, Central Coast Country Music Festival and New Years Eve fireworks.
Take time to enjoy the many types of international cuisine and dining options available at The Entrance. You will have a hard time trying to decide whether to have that coffee alfresco from one of the numerous cafes whilst enjoying the beautiful views or simply grab fish and chips, the picnic rug and perch under the Norfolk Pines watching the local pelican population glide by.
The famous 1934 cinema, originally the Prince Edward Theatre, the Entrance Cinema is the place to catch the latest movies. With numerous clubs, pubs and hotels at The Entrance provide a vast array of activities and entertainment for all ages.
Head around to Picnic Point Reserve where you will find the local skate park. There is also a boat launching ramp with plenty of parking for the car and trailer. This carpark is an ideal starting point for the bicycle track that hugs the foreshore of Tuggerah Lake from The Entrance right around to Chittaway Bay, passing through the picturesque lakeside suburbs of Long Jetty, Killarney Vale & Berkeley Vale. The trip is about 25km return, so be sure to pack a picnic lunch and take advantage of the many picnic spots along the way.
